Branched-Chain Amino Acids
Molecular formula Description Main ApplicationsMolecular formula
Description
Combination of three amino acids: Valine + Isoleucine + Leucine; Common ratios: 2:1:1 or 4:1:1 (Leucine:Isoleucine:Valine); Directly oxidized in muscles, reduces central fatigue.
Main Applications
Branched-Chain Amino Acids (BCAAs) comprise a combination of three branched-chain amino acids: L-Leucine, L-Isoleucine and L-Valine. Unlike most amino acids, which are metabolised primarily in the liver, all three components are oxidized directly within skeletal muscle, delivering a rapid energy source during intensive exercise while exerting an anti-catabolic effect that limits muscle protein breakdown, reduces central fatigue and supports athletic performance and post-training recovery. BCAAs is widely utilized in sports nutrition. Standard 2:1:1 and 4:1:1 blends are available, along with custom ratios.
