Description

White crystals or crystalline powder; Molecular Formula: C₅H₁₁NO₂; Molecular Weight: 117.15; CAS No.: 72-18-4; One of the branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs).

Main Applications

L-Valine is one of the three branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs) and an essential amino acid that cannot be synthesised by the body and must therefore be obtained entirely from the diet. Unlike most amino acids, which are metabolised primarily in the liver, L-Valine is oxidized directly within skeletal muscle to supply energy, helping to alleviate exercise-induced fatigue and exert an anti-catabolic effect during intensive training by reducing muscle protein breakdown and supporting muscle repair. These properties underpin its widespread use in sports nutrition formulations.
